Therian Shifts

Phantom Shift illustration

A phantom shift (ph-shift) is sensing non-physical body parts — a tail, ears, wings, muzzle, or paws — that aren't physically there.

It's often compared to a phantom limb. The sensations are felt, not seen, and are non-physical. A phantom sensation on its own doesn't prove therianthropy, but for many therians it's a vivid and meaningful part of their experience.
